    This Week in Twitter Episode 5: @Alanajoy and @percival

    On Friday, March 5th I joined @lons on This Week in Twitter. This week had two great guests: @Alanajoy and @percival. Alana is a blogger, marketing and social media strategist and was also recently voted as LA’s Best Most Shameless Self Promoter by @LAWeekly. Sean is the founder of @lalawag and is now working at @myspace.

    The Next Web’s Weekly Recap: Battle Over Mobile, Facebook Turns 6 and Twitter Attack

    This is my Weekly Recap for The Next Web that was originally published on February 7, 2010.  

    This week saw a couple of big deals involving Monster and Yahoo as well as UStream. It also saw the battle over mobile heat up. Android's platform is gaining features and more phones. The big question mark in the space, Microsoft, appears to be poised to release a mobile phone soon. This week also saw Facebook turn 6 and get an improved UI. Meanwhile, Twitter added a key new feature to their web interface.

    This Week in Twitter Episode 1: @adventuregirl

    I was very excited to be a part of the debut episode of This Week in Twitter this past Friday. The new show is developed and hosted by Lon Harris, a fellow coworker of mine at Mahalo. The show is the latest in the This Week In network that Jason Calacanis launched in 2009 with This Week in Startups. 

    This Week in Twitter will include a feature interview, some fun games as well as the latest Twitter news. I will be joining Lon on the show to cover the weekly Twitter news. Co-hosting the show is "social media ninja" Natasha Wescoat. Our first guest was the high profile travel Twitter user @adventuregirl (AKA Stefanie Michaels).

    The Next Web's Weekly Recap: Twitter Features, Apple Event and Google in China

    * Every week I recap the web and social media news for The Next Web. Below is my recap from Sunday, January 24, 2010. Please share this post from The Next Web. 

    This week saw a bunch of Twitter news including the launch of a new Suggested User List as well as local based trends. They also announced an upcoming feature to claim dormant usernames. All wasn't good for Twitter as disappointing December growth rates were released. Also in the news was Apple after the long awaited Tablet announcement was officially scheduled for this coming Wednesday the 27th. The Google China drama also continued this week as the US Government stepped in.

    Overview
    This week's news was headlined by the debate over in-tweet advertising on Twitter. After Twitter COO announced that their ad platform would be unveiled soon, many argued over the viability of the in-tweet advertising model. The other big news of the week was Google continuing their shopping spree by buying display ad company Teracent.
